Rice House Dalton, Arkansas
Built by Reuben Rice in 1827, the Rice House is one of the oldest log structures of its type remaining in Arkansas. Restoration of the house was a project of Black River Technical College in Pocahontas funded by grants from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council. The old house is open to the public by appointment only. Work is still underway on restoration of the farmstead’s outbuildings, trails, parking, and other facilities. The house is right on State Highway 93, not far from Shady River. Map from Shady River
